Kate Schwarting is an artist from New York. She received her B.S. in Geology and Studio Art and an M.A. in Theater from Stony Brook University. Her practice utilizes both traditional and new media techniques to explore art and science. Within her drawings, she creates micro compositions under magnification within the macro compositions that invite the viewer to explore them. Her work is part of the permanent collection of the Microbiology Department at Oregon State University and Bibliotheca Alexandrina in Alexandria, Egypt.
